SmartThings Energy awarded for global sustainability efforts

In July 2021, we launched SmartThings Energy to revolutionize the home energy category. Today we are extremely proud to announce that SmartThings Energy has been recognized by the Business Intelligence Group as a 2022 Sustainability Award winner in the Sustainable Service of the Year category.

The Sustainability Awards recognize people, teams and organizations that have made sustainability an integral part of their business practices or overall mission. By reporting data on actual energy consumption and analyzing usage patterns, SmartThings Energy empowers users to reduce energy costs and contribute to a greener future.

This recognition not only solidifies SmartThings’ position as a leader in smart energy solutions, but also demonstrates the importance we place on improving consumer household IQ and building a better, greener tomorrow. According to the judges, the company’s vision and strategy will continue to deliver results towards a cleaner and more sustainable world.

SmartThings’ global commitment to energy efficiency

The global scale of SmartThings Energy is what makes it truly unique. Overall, the energy industry is highly regionalized, which makes it difficult to enact broad-reaching policies and programs. With the launch of SmartThings Energy, Samsung has integrated with regional energy partners to provide significant impact around the world, starting with Korea, UK, Germany, USA and India.

SmartThings Energy has rapidly grown its customer base and expanded its reach through partnerships with many companies, including Constellation, Logical Buildings and Oracle Utilities. The platform is free to download and supports Samsung devices from 2022, along with several Works with SmartThings (WWST) OEM smart meters, making it easier than ever for consumers to engage in green habits.

By combining the mature features of the SmartThings platform with energy-efficient products and intelligence from Samsung, SmartThings Energy empowers homeowners around the world to take action and make a change – whether it’s switching to a new energy supplier or increasing awareness of their overall carbon footprint.
