Sure, you can find some accessories and decor pieces for around $50, but overall, this is not a store to frequent if you’re shopping on a budget. Plus, if you know where to look, you can find pieces that fit the same aesthetic for much less. Example: OSP Home Furnishings’ Kaylee Spindle Accent Chair from Amazon, which looks almost identical to the popular Serena & Lily Beckett Chair. The only big difference? The Amazon version sells for $330. While this is by no means a small price for an accent chair, it is significantly less than the $2,248 that the Beckett chair is currently reduced to. But how does the Kaylee chair hold up in everyday use? Luckily, AT Director of Strategic Partnerships Laina bought it for her living room a few months ago and has all the information.
What is the Kaylee Spindle Accent Chair?
Both stylish and comfortable, the Kaylee chair will instantly elevate the look of your seating area without taking up a lot of space. In fact, we could just as easily see this piece in a cozy reading nook or corner of the bedroom as next to the sofa. The solid wood frame creates a sturdy silhouette, while the spring and foam cushions let you lounge for hours without sinking in. Of course, the main feature of this chair is the spindle detailing on the frame, which sets it apart from a regular armchair without looking too busy. The completely white design additionally allows the chair to fit into different interior styles, whether we are talking about coastal, modern or country. Laina got hers on sale during Prime Day and couldn’t be happier with her find. “Couldn’t say more about this chair!” she said. “It was SO easy to put together and it’s so meaningful and looks amazing.”
Unfortunately, the Amazon chair only comes in all-white, so you’ll have to check out the original Beckett chair for more options. In fact, it’s available in just under 200 fabric options, each made to order. However, if you ask us, the $330 version is a solid alternative if you’re comfortable with a monochromatic color scheme.
The Serena & Lily chair is also made of durable hardwood, which is perhaps a little nicer than the butt material. In contrast, the frame of the Kaylee chair is made of rubber wood, which you will find is the case with a lot of cheap furniture. But most Amazon customers still report being happy with their chairs, and Laina certainly doesn’t regret getting hers on sale.
“I’m a big fan of Serena & Lily and the coastal/Grand Millennial look,” she said. “I’ve seen this chair in several stores for over $2,500. I was shocked to see it so cheap on Amazon and didn’t have high hopes for the quality since it was only $250. As soon as I opened it, I was shocked. … It’s a heavy, solid chair. I would highly recommend him to anyone!”
