My favorite lip colors – Chris Loves Julia

I feel like I’ve been wearing the same lip colors for years! Someone once told me that if you draw your lip down, that color is a good direction for a color that will look good with your skin tone. When choosing lip colors, I usually choose one that’s pretty close to my skin tone — or I’ll go on the pink or berry side.

If you know me, you know I have Burt’s Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm in my back pocket. It is a very lightly tinted hair stick. At least that’s what I always have on my lips.

The one I just got is the new Merit Signature Lipstick (Matte). Classic. It’s warmer than I usually wear, but I really like it. Matte application is very “everyday”. When applying, I usually go a little outside the lip line to make my lips look fuller. I think this will become one of my favorite lip colors.

I have Maybelline Super Stay Ink Crayon Lipstick Lead the Way it’s been my wish for years. It’s really long lasting and doesn’t smudge. Sometimes I’ll wear it as a lipstick and sometimes I’ll just line my lips with it and add it to my lipstick.

Last year I went with my sister to the Eras tour and we loved hearing the songs all in our best glam outfits. For Christmas, I had to get her signature Taylor red lip (kind of hard to track down these days!), so I included my own personal red as a gift for The Eras Tour movie that launched on Disney+. (Hi, I’m watching this multiple times!)

I’ve rounded up all of my lipstick recommendations below, so I hope you find something fun to try! Let me know your favorite lip colors so I can get some new ideas.
