Her best DIY tip is to strike a balance between careful planning and diving in; both are valuable for a DIY project. “Measuring and taping is not my forte – I like to skip ahead to the ‘fun parts’ to see the payoff,” she explains. “On this project, I forced myself to take my time and plan the tools I would need… and prepare in the best way possible. Then, on my fourth trip to The Home Depot in a day and a half, I decided to go ahead and get started. Planning is important, but at the end of the day this was supposed to be a fun weekend project.”
