College is the perfect time to discover new things – and for me, I discovered “slutcakes”. They are one of the simplest yet most impressive desserts that consist of three layers: cookie dough, Oreos, and cookies. According to my semi-busy internet research, the OG recipe is from Kevin and Amanda (who at the time called them Oreo cookie dough brownies), but apparently it was The Londoner who first used the term “slut” to describe this dessert. No matter what you call them, they’re quick, easy to make, and easy to enjoy.

Not to brag or anything, but I’ve never gotten a bad grade. They’re perfect for any occasion like dinner or movie night, or even to bring into the office for a bunch of your coworkers. (My colleague Ola recently described them as “chocolatey goodness.”) One of the best parts, though? Everything is bought in the store. Like, yes, you have to prepare the cookie mix, but if you make cookies from boxed mix, it’s maybe two extra steps and the payoff is more than worth it.

How to Make Slutty Cupcakes

I timed it and you can put them together in about the time it takes your oven to heat up. NGL, the hardest part of the assembly was, literally, opening the tub of cookie dough.

After you have greased a 9×13 inch baking pan, place a layer of cookie dough. Cover the bottom of the baking pan with a layer of cookie dough. Then add the mini Oreos (I arrange them in rows and columns because I’m not cold). Prepare the cake mix according to the instructions on the box and pour it over the other two layers. I use a knife to make sure the batter is covering the Oreos.

Bake at 350ºF for about 40 to 45 minutes. I usually use a toothpick test to check if they are done. Let it cool in the pan (but I rarely make it until it’s “completely cool” and honestly, it was fine).

Biting into a sloppy cookie is a decadent experience. After all, it’s three desserts in one! You get a bit of each layer in every single bite. IMHO, it’s one of the ultimate dessert combinations. They almost are also easy to make — the definition of a low-effort, high-reward recipe. I haven’t met a single hater (except people who don’t like chocolate which is…).
