I was never that big on decorating for Easter until I had kids. They are so excited about every holiday, and I want it to be special for them. Now I’ve put some thought into how I want the season to feel for them. So I focus on Easter decorations that are subtle enough for my personal aesthetic, but will hopefully become the backdrop for my children’s core memories over the years.
Round vase | Artificial Fig Branch | Moss Bunnies | Stone slabs | Baking dish | Faux Hydrangeas | Bunny salad plates | Candlesticks | Taper candles | Copper Napkin Rings | Plaid napkins | Porcelain Bunny (similar)
Speaking of basic memories: I had my tonsils out two days before Easter. My parents gave me and my sister giant stuffed bunnies with jelly ears as a sort of consolation prize. I still have my bunny — I named him Jelly, and I bring him out every year. It’s not cute, but I’ve had it since I was 8 and I’m still holding on to it.
Now, bunny decor is my most expensive Easter category. The kids get excited when there’s anything new in the house, so I add bunnies to the kitchen shelves, which are a fun little nod to the season. I’m also going to add a stuffed bunny animal to my kids’ beds for Easter and make it special by only going out on Easter. My girls love it. Here are some of my tips to make Easter decor special.
Shop Easter Bunnies
Light up your home
Coffee table | White Bowl | Pot | Boucle chairs | Faux Tree (similar) | Carpet | Floor lamp | Mirror | Chandelier | Artwork | Image Light | Velvet Couch
As Easter is right around the time of the changing of the seasons, it’s the perfect backdrop to think about spring! I really focus on lighting our house. It’s time to clear out and remove some of the heavy furniture, textures and fabrics that have carried us through the winter season. Say goodbye to those flannels and heavy throws. Spring cleaning can also mean putting things away in addition to taking out the trash.
Introduce seasonal colors

Once you’ve created that space for something fresh, I like to add seasonal colors. My Easter decorations tend to have a muted color palette. This year I’m really loving butter yellow, spring green and gray blue together. Even the navy blue and cream combination is so pretty for Easter.
Arrange your collections
I think it’s fun to display a collection of something — like I do with bunnies. If you celebrate Easter, chances are you’ll be having an Easter dinner. So consider collecting appetizer plates, napkins — really everything for the table.
Display natural elements
Wallpaper | Bunny Head | Carpet | Day bed | Doll | Pillow | Wicker side table | Vase | Faux Peonies
It’s also a great place to focus on flowers, whether artificial or real. I like to sprinkle small stems around my home that reflect the flowers and foliage of the season, such as daffodils, dogwood, and ranunculus. Choose those natural touches that reflect the soft color palettes of Easter.
